CENTRAL AMERICAN YOUTH

LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Join us, Volunteer, be a sponsor in supporting our immigrant youth

  • Supporting Our Immigrant Students

Homies Unidos is pleased to invite our immigrant supporters to join us for our Annual Central American Youth Leadership Conference. Each year, this conference brings together approximately 450 youth to participate in a resource fair, interactive workshops, and recreational activities. Most importantly, it is a moment where our community welcomes immigrant youth and reassures them that they are valued, supported, and protected in our city.

In previous years, our youth have heard uplifting messages from leaders such as former Mayor Eric Garcetti, Senator María Elena Durazo, Congressman Miguel Santiago, Assembly Member Wendy Carrillo, L.A. Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez and most recently Assembly member Mark Gonzalez—voices that reaffirmed our immigrant youth have a place in Los Angeles and have rights and safety in Los Angeles. We are proud to have welcomed the likes of Dr. Charles Vela, founder of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Institute, CARECEN’s-Angela Sambrano, SALEF- Jocelyn Duarte,

The primary goals of our conference are to:

Provide meaningful support to Central American and Latino immigrant youth and their families by creating spaces that foster healing from past trauma.

Connect youth with essential resources and direct service providers who address the unique needs of migrant youth. Over 20 organizations will participate in our resource fair.

Expose newly arrived youth to higher education pathways by introducing them to the LATTC campus, vocational programs, and opportunities for academic and career advancement.

To ensure a successful event, Homies Unidos is seeks sponsorships to help cover the costs of printed materials, banners, food, beverages, and other expenses. Funds raised will directly support our ongoing violence prevention and youth empowerment efforts for immigrant youth.
